Is a Havanese for You?
Havanese are fantastic little dogs. But like any pet, they are not for everyone. Here are some of the reasons that we love Havanese.
It may go without saying, but these puppies become dogs. They are not forever these tiny, adorable babies. Make sure that you want a dog and not just a puppy!

To consider...
Do you travel often?
Your future planning will need to include either accommodations for your pet to travel with you, or a reliable place for them to stay while you're away. Either can be expensive.
Do you work from home?
If you are regularly out of the house in places where you cannot bring your puppy, you might reconsider your choice of breed. If you work from home, or have the ability to include your dog in your travels, they will do well.
Do you have other pets?
Our puppies are introduced to people and other animals as often as possible. At the least, they will have had contact with other dogs, and with cats. Most animals, when introduced to a puppy, will warm up to them.
If you already have adult animals, be prepared to spend time and maybe money to supervise their interactions and provide any training necessary.
Is your financial future predictable?
Like any pet, Havanese require some basics. A bed, a crate, food dishes, food and treats, flea treatment and immunizations and basic veterinary care.
Havanese have additional requirements. They need solid, regular time with people. They have to be brushed, bathed and maybe trimmed often. All of this requires commitment - of time, or money, or both - for the life of the dog (about 15 years). Are you prepared to offer a Forever home to one of these dependent creatures?
